Toni Barnhart became involved in the sport of Dog Agility in 2000 in California. After moving to Hawai'i in 2004, she collaborated with a group of people to help bring agility to the Big Island. She is a founding member, and current President of the Orchid Isle Dog Agility Club. Her two Bearded Collies are retired. "Oscar" is a 3 year old Australian Shepherd/ Border Collie cross who is just starting his agility career. Oliver the other "Bossie" is a silly puppy.
Tobi Feves has taught dog obedience for over 5 years both privately and for the Hilo Obedience club. Tobi was also instrumental in bringing agiity to the Big Island and is a founding member of the Orchid Isle Dog Agility Club, and currently serves as its Membership Chair and Trial Secretary. She is an avid agility comeptitor, taking her first agility dog "Pa'a" to the higest levels of competition, both here and on Oahu. Her youngster "Diamond" is just beginning her agility career. Tobi teaches "Introduction to Agility" and "Beginning Agility" classes along with advanced group and private lessons.
Karen Lukea has taught Agility and Obedience on Oahu for many years and has recently moved to Hawai'i Island. She brings with her a wealth of experience in agility, obedience and Shutzhund training. Karen has successfully run her Rotweiler "Neo" and Australina Shepherd, "Slash" in agility on Oahu and is pleased to have a Border Collie puppy, "Pule" who is shaping up to be one to beat here on Hawai'i. Karen teaches "Introduction to Agility" and "Beginning Agility" classes along with advanced group lessons both in Papa'ikou and in HPP.
We provide private and semi-private lessons in agility for interested individuals and their dogs on the Big Island. We emphasize positive training, and having fun with your dog(s). We also stress the need for strong foundation skills.
